Rick & Lisa would like to welcome you to buy-LOCAL Bedford!
The idea for buy-LOCAL.net was born back in December 2005. We had been using a vegetable box scheme whilst whilst buying the rest of our weekly groceries from our local butchers, bakers, deli and Farmers Markets. This was time consuming and took planning and effort, if only there had been an easier solution...
We believe passionately that in buying locally we are doing the right thing, both for our health, our local community and for the environment. This used to require dedication and organisation. We still found ourselves drawn to the bright lights of the 'one stop shop' supermarkets and realised that we needed a better solution to make shopping locally more convenient for everyone.
buy-LOCAL also offers people a real alternative to the Supermarkets, putting the excitement back into food shopping, offering a quality, expertise, convenience and a unique service.
We are realistic enough to know that not everything can be produced on our doorsteps, which is why we strongly support our local shops . We all depend on the community that is closest to home, and surely it makes sense to support local businesses who will in turn re-invest in the local economy.
