Registration
Shopping on RootsLOCAL.co.uk could not be easier but first you need to Register. Registration is free and only takes a few minutes.
Click on the Register button on the top menu and follow the step-by-step instructions. The system will email
your login details for your information, so please ensure that your email address is entered correctly.
As soon as you have registered, you can immediately login and start shopping.
Shopping – Browsing and Searching
There are lots of shops and products to browse through.
To Browse, you can click on the Shop button on the top of the screen, or use the shortcut links on the left of the screen, to view the shop you are interested in.
Once you are in a shop, categories and sub-categories available will be
displayed. Click on the sub-category links to display the products available. e.g. Beef Burgers with Onion can be found in the ‘Butchers’ shop under the ‘Beef’ category and the ‘Burgers’ subcategory.
If you know the product you are interested in, but do not know where to find it, you can type part of the title in Search box and search for it. A list of all the matching products will be listed.
Shopping – Product Information
When you have located the product you are interested in, you are provided with additional information to help you with your purchase
decision.
In addition to the standard description, product photograph and price, there are a number of symbols that may appear. If you hover
your mouse pointer over the symbol, it will tell you what the symbol. Look out for the shopping key on the left of the page.
You can get to know the products supplier. The
symbol provides a link to the suppliers mini - website.
The boxes that indicate the days of the week are important. These tell you on what days this product can be delivered to you. For example, if you wish to order a product that can only be delivered on a Friday, you must ensure you choose a Friday delivery when you start to shop.

Shopping – Booking a delivery slot
Before you can start adding products to your basket, you must first book a
delivery slot.
When you login, you will be prompted to book a slot in the the "Basket Summary"
area of the page. Click the "Book Slot" button and select the date and time that
suits you best for a delivery. There are plenty of delivery slots available and
you can book your delivery up to 3 weeks in advance.
Once you have selected your required delivery slot, it remains reserved for you
for 3 hours. The "Basket Summary" area tells you when the booking will expire.
Once this time has elapsed, the booking will be lost and you will need to select
your delivery slot again before you can complete your order.
Please ensure that you will be available to receive your order on your selected
delivery day.
Shopping – Logging in and Logging Off
In order to purchase items you must log in using your username (which is the email address you provided when you registered) and your password. If you have forgotten your password, you can click on the Forgot? link and the system will email your password to you.
You can log off at any time and the contents of your shopping basket will be retained (handy if you need to pop out in the middle of building up your order).
Shopping – Placing Items in Your Basket
If you wish to purchase an item, click on the basket symbol and the item is added to your Basket. The Basket Summary, on the left, indicates how many items are in your basket and what the current total is, excluding delivery (and credit card fee, if applicable).
You can review the contents of your basket and change item quantities at any time. If you need to log out, your basket contents will be retained.
Please note that you cannot proceed to the checkout until you have reached the minimum order quantity (the Checkout button will not appear).
Shopping – Checkout, Delivery and Payment
When you are ready to purchase your items and you have reached the minimum order value, you may proceed to the checkout by clicking the Checkout button at the bottom of the
"Basket Summary" area of the page.
You will need to indicate how often you would like to receive the order (either
just this once or on a regular basis), enter any special delivery instructions
you would like to make us aware of or add a promotional code to your order.
Our payments are taken on secure server, so you can be confident that your transaction is safe and secure.
Shopping – Regular Orders
When you checkout an order, you can choose to have it delivered to you
on a regular basis. For example, you may have a regular monthly order for your
meat and household goods, and a weekly order for your fresher items such as
bread and milk. To do this, simply select how often you would like the order to
be delivered on the "Delivery" section of the checkout.
You can setup as many regular orders as you require.
Payment for regular orders is taken on our secure server. Please see our terms

Shopping – Regular Orders - Making Changes
You can make changes to your order as often as you like once established, however please be aware that once the delivery window is closed for that week (typically 2-3 days prior to delivery) then that order will be processed with the supplier and you are committed to your basket.
To do this click on "My Regular Orders" on the red taskbar, select the order you wish to edit, and make the necessary changes to your slot, recurrence or card details.
You can also add extra items to the order or remove any items you no longer
require.
You can also put an order on hold (for example if you are going away on
holiday) and also completely remove the order from your account.
Changes made are effective instantly and the system does not require any save function.
Shopping – Regular Orders - Order Confirmations
You will continue to receive your order confirmations via email in accordance with the frequency of your
regular order, and the confirmation will reflect any changes that you made in the interim period prior to deliver that given week.
You can check your current order status at any point by selecting "My Regular Orders" from the red taskbar.
Shopping – Regular Orders - Holidays
If you are going away or wish to temporarily suspend your order for any reason, click on
"My Regular Orders" on the red taskbar, and under "Status" click on "Put on Hold". This will require you to re-activate your order within the delivery lead time of your local RootsLOCAL.co.uk operators system (typically 2-3days) for delivery that week.
We reserve the right to deliver and charge in full for any order unless we have received notice of cancellation before the published deadline.
