About us
Award winning Four Seasons Preserves is based at Waterhall Farm, Whitwell near Hitchin on the Bowes-Lyon estate, the childhood home of the late Queen Mother.
With 2 hands and 3 pans, Maya has created an incredible range of products under 3 labels:
- Four Seasons Preserves: covering chutneys and over 30 marmalades
- A Taste of History: ranging over 2000 years of British condiments
- Maya: the most recent range consisting of 17th -20th Century Indian condiments.
Awarded a Great Taste Award for her Lime and Cardamom Marmalade, A Taste of History range was long-listed for the BBC Food and Farming Awards and reviewed by Sheila Dillon on Radio 4’s Food Programme. And all made locally at Waterhall Farm in Whitwell, part of the Bowes-Lyon estate that was the late Queen Mother's childhood home!
Maya also featured in an episode of BBC 2’s Christine’s Garden and has featured in several articles including one in Hertfordshire Life.
In addition to the preserves Maya has edited one book on Victorian recipes, contributed to magazines and lectures and runs workshops on historical cookery.
Her products are supplied to a nationwide range of delis and more locally to village stores, museums, pubs, hotels and tourist information centres. She is also working on an own label range for a deli.
